Cambridge SoundWorks MicroWorks II Amplified Multimedia/Computer Speaker System
The MicroWorks II is a versatile, three-piece amplified speaker system composed of two small satellite speakers and a compact subwoofer. The system provides a total system RMS power of 80 Watts (20 x 2 satellite, 40 subwoofer). The MicroWorks II features a compact yet sophisticated fifth-order, downward-firing subwoofer. A 6 1/2" active driver rigidly mounted in the center of the subwoofer enclosure pressurizes an 8" radiator at the base of the enclosure. The 8" bass radiator features a 1" wide butyl rubber edge surround for distortion-free, high-level bass output down to 45 Hz. The new MC40 satellite drivers feature a central phase compensator for evenly spread high-frequency output, along with magnetic shielding. The asymmetrically curved satellite cabinets all but eliminate distortion-causing reflections known as "standing waves." The satellites and sub combine to create lifelike music and video sound. The sonic accuracy is evident at all output levels, making the MicroWorks II useful in a wide range of typical home applications. The MicroWorks II is reproduces superb music and movie sound in small home theater environment, or produces thunderous output while fragging unwanted invaders in the latest PC or video game. The system has two signal inputs (Main and Auxiliary). The system is supplied with desktop stands for the satellites and a wired remote volume control (including headphone jack).
